HIT equipment
The equipment questions people ask before starting High-Intensity Training.
Frequently asked
What equipment do I need for HIT?
Any load you can push to momentary muscular failure safely. Machines, barbells, dumbbells, and cables all work. The method is the constant; the tool is not.
Are machines better than free weights for HIT?
Machines make failure safer because they control the path and remove balance demands. Free weights work if you have safety catches or a spotter and strict form.
Can I do HIT at home?
Yes, if you have enough resistance to reach true failure within a moderate rep range. A pair of adjustable dumbbells and a bench can cover most exercises.
Do I need special machines like Nautilus?
No. Arthur Jones popularised HIT on Nautilus machines, but the method works with any resistance that lets you train hard and safely to failure.
Failure Point is a training logbook, not medical advice. Training to failure carries injury risk.
Consult a physician before starting any intense training program.
